Treasure Hunt

We went to the Sacramento Antique fair this month and had a blast! I want to do it every month! Such great finds and the prices varied, some were very high others were extremely reasonable, the dealers accept haggling out there as well. Some of our exciting finds:

While we were hoping to find the beating heart of Davy Jones in this chest, no such luck! We love it anyways, we put it in our family room and it fits right in!

We got this fabulous dresser to use as a changing table in the baby room and it's the perfect size and height for it. It also inspired a color scheme for the room and I've been on the hunt for some kind of sea foam green colored bedding.

We also got a couple other things but I'll spare you, they are smaller items anyway.

Fresh life.

As luck has it, we are expecting our own little bundle of joy in July and are counting down the days. I've been getting his (yes its a boy) room together and prepping for mi vida loca post delivery. I'm also enrolled in 12.5 units of classes so I'm a bit over loaded and having a issues keeping up with the workload on top of eating properly, giving myself time to ralph it back up and then eating again. I'm getting the hang of it, after all we are 5 1/2 months into this and the vomiting seems to be here to stay. I'm definitely very much looking forward to warmer weather and swimming that cant come soon enough. I haven't even been swimming in my own pool yet!

Ringing In The New Year......In Disneyland!

Tower of Terror was exactly right...everyone was terrified.

We had the pleasure to take the trip down with the Kozel's.

We had a excellent time at Disneyland, Adam had never been to the Magical Kingdom and I hadn't been in 10 years! California Adventure was all new to me! Lots of new cool stuff that was a must see! The park was absolutely packed on New years eve but it was worth it and we had time on the 30th to ride a ton of rides.

Coldplay

So we went and saw Coldplay last night because I didn't end up selling my tickets and it was pretty good with a few pleasant surprises. While the band was mostly on the main stage they popped up a couple times on smaller stages among the crowd. One of the stages being on the back on the lawn where we were sitting. They did a couple of songs there, one of them being Michael Jackson's Billie Jean! That was great, I flipped my camera to record so I could share with all of you. Enjoy!

Gotta Make That Dollar.

While I really enjoy working at Ricochet Salon in Sola, I have decided to also work at another salon in Folsom.

My business has slowed a bit and I really just need to be more available at a place with more marketing because i cant afford all the great marketing tools. Thank You all for your nice thoughts during Adam and mines sad time. We miss Kane every second and we still just cant believe that we lost our baby so quickly. We have been working hard at keeping Logan busy so he doesn't get too sad from Kane's absence. We try to take him everywhere and let him look on the bright side. We have even been going to the drive-in movies and taking him with us to lay and watch movies on the big screen with us. He is such a good boy.

Kane

Anyone who knows me know how obsessed and in love with our dogs we are. We are incredibly devastated to say that are first born pup Kane passed away on Saturday. He started looking sick early last week and we took him to the vet Wednesday: They did blood work, Thursday: they did x-rays and a ultrasound and called me with the news that he had cancer in his kidney and it had spread to his lung. I was instructed to manage his pain with medication and make him comfortable. I was to give him a pill every 8-12 hours but his pain was so bad he needed a pill every 4 hours or else he was wailing in pain. It was so painful to watch our little angel in so much pain we did all we could do for those 3 days and cried by his side constantly. Friday we ended up at the emergency vet for a shot of pain medication so he could rest easy. Our ultimate goal was to get him to a Oncology appointment on Monday to get the full details and our course of action. On Saturday he had a okay morning and we were able to manage his pain for most of the day until he started wailing in pain and was passing out from the pain. We rushed him to the vet and had to make the difficult decision to let him be free of pain and let him go. Our baby was 5 years and 2 months old. We miss him every second and are trying to cope with the pain of our loss. He was such a wonderful dog and so very smart and understanding. He was our watchdog and our teddybear at night. We shared a pillow for 5 years and its hard to be without him.

Spring is among us. Summer is coming.

So my new favorite past time is riding my bike with friends. I am on a get in shape kick and running and riding my bike are part of it. If you have a bicycle and wanna ride dust it off and hit me up!! Jannelle and I were talking about getting a little bike trailer and making a day of it a cooler and blanket, we can ride really far, find a kick it spot and hang out for a while. We rode the American River trail and it was beautiful. I highly recommend it.
